How the calculation works
Battery energy added is capacity multiplied by the percentage increase. Grid energy includes the selected charging loss.
Formula: Energy added = capacity × (target − current) ÷ 100. Grid energy = energy added ÷ efficiency.
Worked example
Charging a 60 kWh battery from 20% to 80% adds 36 kWh. With 10% loss, about 40 kWh is drawn.
What can affect the result?
Temperature, charger type, battery conditioning, tariffs and charging losses affect actual cost.
