How the calculation works

The purchase price is reduced by the selected percentage for each year in the calculation period.

Formula: Estimated value = purchase price × (1 − annual rate) ^ years.

Worked example

A £25,000 car depreciating at 15% annually is estimated at about £15,352 after three years.
