Car Breakdown Recovery in London
What to do first if your car breaks down
If your car breaks down, stay calm and get yourself safe first. If you can, move the car as far left as you can, away from moving traffic. Switch on your hazard lights. Get out on the side away from traffic and move to a safe place, behind a barrier if there is one. If you are in a live lane, or anyone is hurt, call 999 first. Do not work on the car in moving traffic. Do not try to push a car, change a wheel, or open the bonnet beside fast traffic.
Once you are safe, call or WhatsApp us on +44 7588 282876 and tell us where you are and what has happened. Our full motorway steps are in our guide: What to Do If Your Car Breaks Down on the Motorway in the UK.
Car recovery and towing
Car breakdown recovery means getting your car, and you, off the road when the car cannot be driven on safely. That is the core of what we do. We are a London based, 24/7 vehicle recovery service, and we cover all motorways and all areas. Towing is part of that help. If your car will not start, will not move, or is not safe to drive, we can tow it rather than leave you to work it out at the roadside. When you call, tell us where the car is, what kind of car it is, and what has gone wrong, as far as you know. That helps us understand what help you need. We do not ask you to diagnose the fault yourself. A short, plain description is enough. For example, the car cut out and will not restart, the car will not start at all, or a warning light came on and the car lost power.
Recovery and cab, and cab and transportation
Recovery and cab is one of our main services, along with car towing and cab and transportation. In plain terms, that means help for both the car and the people with it, not just the vehicle on its own. If your car has broken down and you need to get moving, tell us when you call. We will talk through what help you need on that call. We will not promise a route, a destination, or a timetable that we have not agreed with you, because every breakdown is different and safety comes first.
Jump start help, when that is the right call
Not every breakdown needs a tow. Sometimes the problem is a flat battery, and jump start help is the right first step. If your car clicks when you turn the key, turns over slowly, or the lights are dim, a flat battery is a likely cause. Our jump start service is covered in full on our Jump Start and Flat Battery Help page. That page also explains when not to jump start at all, including a damaged, leaking or frozen battery. If a jump start is not safe, or does not work, recovery is the next step. You can read the safety advice in our flat battery guide too: Flat Battery? What to Do If Your Car Won’t Start in the UK. Jump start help means help to start the car. It does not mean battery replacement, and we do not claim that here.
When recovery is needed instead of a roadside fix
A roadside fix is only right when it is safe and when it will actually get the car moving again. Recovery is needed instead when any of these apply:
- The car is in a live lane, on a motorway, or in a place where working beside it is not safe.
- The car will not start, will not move, or keeps cutting out.
- The car is not safe to drive, for example after a loss of power, steering or brakes, or after damage you can see.
- A jump start has not worked, or a jump start is not safe for that battery.
- You are not sure what is wrong, and driving on could make it worse.
If you are not sure, call us and describe what has happened. It is better to ask than to drive a car that is not safe.
Breakdown recovery in West Drayton and Yiewsley
We are based in Yiewsley, West Drayton. If you have broken down in West Drayton or Yiewsley, our local page has the same service framed for that area: Breakdown Recovery in West Drayton and Yiewsley. That page does not change the service. It is the same recovery, towing, cab and jump start help, for drivers in our home area.
What to tell us when you call
When you call or WhatsApp +44 7588 282876, tell us these three things:
- Where you are, as clearly as you can. A road name, a landmark, or what you can see around you all help.
- What vehicle you have, and what has happened to it, in plain words.
- Whether anyone is hurt, or whether you are in a live lane, so we can tell you to call 999 first if that applies.
You do not need to know the fault, the part, or the fix. Tell us what you can see and hear, and what the car did before it stopped.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work at night?
Yes. We are a 24/7 service, so you can call at any hour.
Do you cover motorways?
Yes. We cover all motorways and all areas.
What if my car will not start?
Tell us what happens when you turn the key. If it looks like a flat battery, jump start help may be the answer. If a jump start is not safe, or does not work, recovery is the next step. Our jump start page explains when not to jump start at all.
What if my car is not safe to drive?
Do not drive it on. Get to a safe place, call 999 first if you are in a live lane or anyone is hurt, then call us for recovery and towing.
What should I say when I call?
Where you are, what vehicle you have, and what has happened. You do not need a technical diagnosis.
